I've tried their tomato flavor and laotan flavor, both were great with unlimited rice. The laotan spice level isn't too spicy, just the right level I would say.

Quick service and seating on a Thursday night! Bustling with naive Chinese people so you know it's good!! Got the Laotan boiled fish with black fungus and cabbage - small and snake fish. it was so good!! and so well priced at $18 to share between two not to hungry folks! mild spice, perfectly tolerable for my mild spice level. Also tried the popcorn chicken and it was yummy but nothing spectacular. Definitely want to return to try the tomato one!

I came here after seeing a post on Xiao Hong Shu and I wasn't disappointed! I arrived around 5:15pm and there was no wait. My boyfriend and I were sat down immediately and reviewed the menu. The menu is very clear in both chinese and English which is great for ordering. The seating was also comfortable and the inside was pretty clean and bright. (Bathroom is also overall clean). We decided to order a large Laotan Pickled Pepper dish (1 chili pepper spice level) with snakehead fish - sides were tofu skin, baby cabbage, wood ear, and vermicelli, and a small Spicy Snakehead fish (3 chili pepper spice level) with tofu skin and wood ear. We got a side of panko skewers (actually they are pork belly skewers). We then got 1 iced lemon tea and 1 wheat milk tea. One of the drinks were free because they have a promotion where you can share one of their wechat business videos onto your wechat moments and then get a drink for free. I really enjoyed my lemon tea and my boyfriend enjoyed his milk tea! Onto the food - the laotan pickled pepper was definitely yummy for those who love pickled pepper flavor. However I also wanted something spicier and this was not very spicy - the other dish however had more of a kick which was enjoyable! Next time I might order 2 smalls in different flavors to satisfy both cravings. The skewers were just okay - I wouldn't order them next time as they're small and didn't add much to the overall meal. I'd recommend coming here if you have a craving for spicy fish or pickled pepper fish and don't want to break the bank. Prices are overall very reasonable for the food quality, and rice is free and unlimited! I ended up packing away a little more than half of the small spicy fish to bring home, and the leftovers from our rice bowls. :) I'll be back soon!

Fish With You is a unique Szechuan restaurant in Flushing that specializes in sauerkraut fish. Starting at $15 for a boiled fish dish, you can share a meal with friends and still have a lot of fish leftover for your next meal. They give unlimited white rice as well! There's options for both spice and non-spice lovers, and add-ins like bean curd, lettuce, cabbage, tofu, vermicelli, and wood ear mushrooms to choose from. Ben's favorite was the boiled fish with pickled cabbage and green pepper, while mine was the Princess' tomato fish. The fish is so tender, while the whole dish is full of flavor. Don't forget to get yourself an iced tea to subside the spice!

As soon as you walk in, the waft of fresh rice and fish stew greets you. It is heavenly! And the workers are quick to address and seat you too. I heard everything down to their appetizers were delicious. We tried the Crispy Popcorn Chicken ($6.95) and they tasted similar to Vivi Bubble Tea's. There's an obvious batter taste to it rather than crispy. But they were piping hot and had a fun little spicy kick to them. We got the #1 Large Portion Laotan Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage and Chili ($23.95). All large portions come with a choice of 4 toppings to go into the stew, so we got the Tofu, Round Lettuce, Bean Curd, and Baby Cabbage. The food came speedy quick. While it looked like a lot, the pot itself was pretty shallow. The taste was so delicious, with a sour creamy spicy taste to it. The Basa Fish option was fish fillet, great in soaking up the flavor while also retaining the flavor of the fish. The spice was only 1 chili pepper, but we both felt the heat. I can't imagine any higher! Rice is unlimited, but I wouldn't have known if it weren't for the Yelp reviews. The traffic and turnover here was busy, but I can totally see why. I am already thinking about coming back soon for their Snakehead fish and their other stew options.

I liked the spot. I'm a huge fan of Sichuan cuisine. I've never done fish soup before and enjoyed the meal. There's lots of flavors and the heat doesn't overpower the dish. The restaurant is a little snug but clean! Service was great, our waitress checked up on us and got us refills for the rice. Enjoyed the spot and look forward to visiting again soon.

Food (4/5): We ordered two sets. The first set was of Laotan boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili. We got it with chicken slices and orange fruit tea. The other set was the Princess's tomato fish set meal. It came with panko skewer and passion fruit tea. All the soups, and appetizers were quite good although they could have stronger flavors. The chicken slices however could definitely be better because it was mostly flour and not much good meat. Service (4/5): Not particularly friendly and the server seemed to have limited English. However, the food came out reasonably fast and they were able to adjust the appetizers on the set. They also were nice and helped out; for example, when it looked like I needed larger napkins they got me some. Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant looks modern and clean. It was really well lit with one side chairs and another side booth seats. They also have the utensils inside a pull out cabinet of the table.

TLDR: If you're fond of the boiled spicy fish in Flushing - this is a chain from China where they serve just this. If you're in the mood for some spicy fish on rice, this place is perfect. I like it - pretty simple menu, you can get small portion, large portion, combo meals, etc. Personally - I'd stick with the classic mala flavor. The pickled broth was good but I prefer just standard spicy flavors. Unlimited rice. Tasty, no frills and oh yes - no bones!
